How to Request Deletion?
Users can request account deletion even if the Foldque application is not installed. To submit your request, follow the steps below:
- In-App: You can initiate the process by navigating to Settings → Account → Delete My Account in the Foldque app.
- Via Email (If you cannot access the app): Send an email from your registered email address (as identity verification may be required) to support@foldque.com from your registered email address (this is required so we can verify your account).
- Write "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line of the email.
- In the body of the email, state the username of the account you wish to delete.
Deletion Flow and 30-Day Grace Period
Upon receipt of the account deletion request and identity verification, your account may be deactivated and a 30-day grace period may be initiated. You can log into your account during this period to cancel the deletion process.
Data Status (Which Data is Deleted?)
At the end of the 30-day period, your account and directly identifying profile data will be deleted. The process regarding the content you created on the platform (questions, solutions) is as follows:
- User Content: Your in-app questions, images, and solutions may be deleted, rendered inaccessible, or remain on the platform with their link to your user profile removed (anonymized).
- Images: Placed in background asset cleanup jobs. Because the process is queue-based, there is no guarantee that the images will be physically destroyed at the exact same moment on the 30th day, but the process is initiated.
Exceptional Retention Cases
Some records may be retained for a limited time due to the following reasons and legal retention obligations:
- Open user reports, dispute, and violation records
- System records for security and fraud prevention
- In-app purchase, subscription status, and financial verification records
- Technical error and performance logs (Sentry etc., anonymous/masked logs)
- Legal obligations and periodic system backups
